For this year's open house Sue Haseltine has relocated the Cherry Tree Bungalow to a new address in North Brighton. Leaving her beautiful home in Ovingdean to make a new start in Hollingbury where she has joined the Fiveways Trail. This year she has 8 guest artists showing in the house, giving even more variety than last year. She will be displaying her nature-inspired painting, mixed media work and prints in the house. The beautiful garden at the rear of the house will also be open to provide a secluded haven to enjoy. Other artists showing in the house are - Georgie Luck works with dip pens, acrylic inks and watercolour. She loves the vibrancy of colour and the physical qualities of fluid inks, creating joyful illustrations. |
Landscape artist Clare Buckle explores the relationship between built and natural environments. Her work questions ideas of beauty and value.
Jane Pinder’s jewellery is inspired by the Sussex coast. It involves a synergy of creative ideas and techniques, resulting in ranges of etched, cast and more sculpturally formed pieces. Shelley Morrow works in watercolour and creates semi-abstract paintings inspired by walking and sketching by the coast and in the countryside. Fiona Lansdown creates palette-knife oil paintings inspired by landscape, using wonderful mark-making and thick paint to explore natural beauty. Linda Hurley is a ceramicist who makes beautiful, joyful homeware - from her delightful colourful bud vases to hand-thrown cups in an array of soft colours and patterns. Mike Hall is a commensurate portrait artist who aims to capture each sitter's character and mood, representing their appearance faithfully in oils. Diana Burnand creates mixed-media work inspired by objects, scenes and the people closest to her, often inspired by unusual perspectives from ordinary scenes. Last year's house Artists Open Houses 2024 Cherry Tree Bungalow Coastal trail - Venue 3 - 65 Wanderdown Road, Ovingdean, BN2 7BT The artist's open house this year was such a joy to host. I loved showing alongside seven other wonderful artists and meeting all the lovely people who visited the house. There was much cake consumed as well! We were mainly blessed with good weather so the glorious garden was enjoyed by many of our visitors.
