Sue Haseltine is a fully qualified teacher, holding a PGCE in Art and Design Secondary Education with 30 years experience working with adults and young people.
She teaches workshops and regular classes in painting, drawing and printmaking in the Brighton and Hove area, working with beginners, improvers and experienced artists. She aims to ensure that each individual feels valued and tailors the one-to-one support she gives to help them and their artwork thrive.

Monday art class - Painting and drawing
4 week art class April 28th, May 5th, May 12th, May 19th 2026 6 week art class June 2nd, 9th, 16th, 23rd, 30th, July 7th 2026 Class fees - £80 per four week block of classes £120 per six week block of classes Location - Draw Brighton Studio, Unit 1, Level 5 South, New England House, BN1 4GH This tutored class covers a range of projects within painting and drawing. The sessions are suitable for beginners and those with more experience who are looking for tutored projects in painting and drawing using a variety of mediums. Each student works from different visual references within a theme, so that everyone produces something unique. People are also free to bring their own images based on the theme set. Each project lasts between two and three weeks so that everyone gets a chance to make a finished piece of work. The tutor always surveys the class to check how projects are progressing and to get ideas for future projects that students might like to explore. The classroom is in the lovely Draw studio and the tutor Sue Haseltine creates a supportive and encouraging atmosphere helping people to progress and gain confidence. Wednesday project art class - Painting and drawing
Currently full - Waiting list places available Cost £22 per session Wednesdays 10.30-1 Location - Cherry Tree Studio, Larkfield Way, Brighton This is a project class where people can work on their own chosen themes with guidance from the experienced tutor. The group form a lovely community who are very supportive of each other. The session provides a time when other distractions fall away and people can focus on their own artwork. Each student works on their own pathway. The work can be based around a very lose theme or could be an opportunity to to learn about specific materials or techniques. Currently the class has people working on lino cutting, mixed media, portraits in oils, acrylic landscapes, watercolour and palette knife oil painting. It is a solvent free studio. It is suitable for people with some experience but is still be suitable for beginners, as tutoring can be tailored to suit the individual. |
